With the yearly quarterback shuffle, we've been left with Rodgers to the Jets, Car to the Saints and a move I want to bring light to Baker Mayfield going to the Buccaneers. Sure you could categorize Baker Mayfield as a bust but the guy has shown when healthy he can be a starting caliber quarterback in the league. But he can't stay healthy and his leadership skills are shaky at best. Now we're in year 6 of his NFL career on his 4th team so you would assume with his experience that should change for the attitude stand point but the health with that shoulder may always be a concern. Nonetheless with this new offense he has he might be able to avoid some of that contact by dumping it off to a his two all-pro wideouts in Mike Evans and Cris Godwin. Center Ryan Jensen is out for the season and the already feeble o-line gets weaker. Don't give me wrong Tristan Wirfs is a tank, but with that said the rest are pretty much nameless. They have a solid running back in Rashaad White whose going to have a tough time sledding through those trenches. Jensen was a key piece in they're running game. Rakim Jarrett could prove to be a factor, he's a rookie so there could be a bit of a learning curve. With Evans and Godwin stealing a lot of the attention this could give the rookie receiver some opportunities to steal some spotlight. This could be a very solid offense and the thing is with the defense they have they don't have to be amazing. 21 points could be enough for some games. It'll definitely takes some pressure off Mayfield so he doesn't have to be this gun slinger Brett Farve type. This is the environment he needs and I feel like all the personalities in Cleveland and the amount of mouths to feed i n that offense was a little much for him. Evans and Godwin don't come off as the OBJ feed me the ball type. But if they were per se, they're shouldn't be much of a problem since they are really the only receiving options they have. Cade Outton is ok but to be honest he's just a guy. With all this said I feel like he will have a great connection with his top two options at receiver and will be able to be very efficient with his year. He's hit rock bottom and I'm thinking the polarizing former Heiseman Trophy winner can turn his career around.
